Welcome to VinGen Data Portal

The main goal of VinGen Data Portal is to advance science and health by providing access to biomedical and genomic data generated by VinBigdata as well as by research community. VinGen Data Portal was set up to ensure the future usability and accessibility of data from biomedical projects in Viet Nam and around the world.

The first dataset on VinGen Data Portal is from The 1000 Vietnamese Genomes Project. This project aims to build a database of genomic variants for Vietnamese population based on whole genome sequencing of 1000 unrelated healthy people belonging to Kinh ethnic group. In other words, it characterizes genetic variation for Vietnamese population. The database then can be used to study genetic background of complex diseases and other phenotypic traits. In addition, this paves the way to develop genetic tests for hereditary diseases and pharmacogenomics.
